Doll Making Clubs
Taxonomy Code: PS-8200.0550-190
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in doll making, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with doll making expertise; demonstrations of basic doll making techniques or dolls associated with a particular culture; and regular meetings at which members share information about doll patterns, materials and supplies or current projects, enjoy the company of other doll making enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Doll making clubs may also provide space for doll making activities, arrange for discounts on doll making materials, sponsor exhibits or sales of dolls created by members, publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about the craft. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
