Description:

The Hancock County Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) administers many programs that benefit West Virginians. Some of the programs include Adult and Child Protective Services. Food Stamps, Adult Family Care Homes, Emergency Assistance, Utility Assistance (LIEAP), Medicaid, WV Works, Non-emergency medical transportation reimbursement, Clothing vouchers, rent assistance and Homeless services. An Adult Family Care Home is a family setting that provides support, supervision, and assistance to adults at least 18 years of age, who cannot live on their own due to physical, cognitive or emotional deficits. These individuals must have an established disability and be free from communicable disease. They must be ambulatory and able to do their own personal care.
