West Virginia Assistance Technology Revolving Loan Fund

Description:

The WV Legislature set aside funds for a revolving loan fund for individuals with disabilities to purchase assistive technology. Loans may range from $500 to a maximum of $5000. Persons may borrow up to 90% of the cost of the technology related device or service. The interest rate is flexible and is calculated at the time the loan application is received. Funds can be used for technology related devices such as vehicle modifications, computer software, home modifications, computer hardware, communication devices and other assistive technology. Also, it may be used for technology related services such as assessments for assistive technology, purchasing and leasing assistive technology, coordinating services with assistive technology such as those associated with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE),and training and technical support. To be eligible a person must: have a disability, be a WV resident, have a reasonable credit history, and spend loan funds for assistive technology as defined by law.
