Description:

Works with communities of faith to recruit, train, manage, and support volunteers who provide simple services to people who need assistance. FaithLink matches volunteer caregivers with people who are elderly, have a disability, or are chronically ill, assists with such practical needs as a ride to the store or a doctor's appointment while helping to meet the emotional and spiritual needs through friendly visits, phone calls and other forms of social support. There is no charge for FaithLink services. The ability to provide services is dependent upon the availability of volunteers. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list until services can be provided. Applications are required. Examples of services: Companionship, Transportation/escort to appointments, Shopping/errands, Telephone reassurance, Light home maintenance, Yard work, Light housework and help with correspondence.
