Federal government departments and agencies that have primary responsibility for or a support role in detecting and suppressing wildland, rural and urban fires resulting from or occurring coincidentally with an incident of national significance (ESF #4). Activities include managing and coordinating firefighting activities, including the detection and suppression of fires on federal lands, and providing personnel, equipment and supplies in support of state and local agencies involved in rural and urban firefighting operations.
