Description:

The Weatherization Assistance Program mission is to reduce energy costs for low-income families (particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children) by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The Weatherization program accepts applications for weatherization assistance in order to identify dwellings which are income eligible for weatherization assistance. Income verification is made with income sources and official documentation and can be a time consuming process to complete. Eligibility is determined using the following: Annual gross income at 200% of the OMB Poverty guidelines per family size, and whether the applicant has received cash assistance payments under Title IV of XVI of the Social Security Act during the preceding 12 months.
